What skills and experience we're looking for
We are characterised by how we treat our people
“Pupils enjoy attending this thriving and popular school. They feel a strong sense of belonging to the school community. Staff have high expectations of behaviour and know pupils very well”.

At SJT we value and care for all our staff and take staff well-being seriously. We take staff’s work/life balance seriously and this is reflected by, amongst other things, ensuring teachers receive a minimum 20% non-contact time. We are committed to reducing marking and planning workload.
We wish to appoint an excellent teacher to join our successful P.E. department. Our diverse Physical Education provision allows all students to enjoy and succeed in a range of physical activity whilst improving their health and well-being. We place an emphasis on teaching PE as part of a broad and ambitious curriculum and give our students access to a wide range of sporting activity, both through lessons and through extra-curricular provision. We see PE as a route to develop a passion for sport as well as a route to developing healthy lifestyles and positive mental health and well being.
We offer NCFE health and fitness at KS4 and this provides a valuable route for students to explore the sport and fitness industry. This forms an important part of our ambitious, academic curriculum and is part of the KS4 subject preferences programme. Through this course, students gain an insight into the wider implications of fitness testing, personal training and development and the implications of healthy lifestyles.
