Purpose:

As a Mathematics Intervention Teacher, you will deliver a broad and differentiated curriculum to students of varying abilities who require additional support to meet age-related expectations. You will be skilled at pinpointing misconceptions and finding effective ways to help students make meaningful progress within a positive learning experience. You will share our commitment to the highest achievement for all students, ensuring that no limits are placed on their aspirations. You will work closely with a vibrant and ambitious faculty team to enhance our curriculum, communicate productively with parents about their child's development, and bring a firm belief that every student can succeed.

Duties (further details in the attached application pack):

  • Deliver a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum to students of varying abilities who require intervention to meet age-related expectations.
  • Prepare and teach maths lessons of a high standard that are tailored to the specific educational needs and designated programmes of study for your students.
  • Identify where specific misconceptions have arisen for children and implement effective strategies to help them make meaningful progress.
  • Establish a positive and engaging learning experience that supports students in achieving their full academic potential.
  • Monitor, assess and report on the attendance, progress and attainment of students to help close gaps between different groups.
  • Maintain discipline and a pleasant learning environment in accordance with school policies regarding behaviour, uniform and punctuality.
  • Contribute positively to the Maths Faculty by co-planning, developing resources and participating in academic or pastoral meetings.
  • Communicate regularly and productively with parents and carers regarding their child's progress, behaviour and development.
  • Participate in the department homework policy and organise motivating trips or events to enhance the students' educational experience.

Fluency Duty
