Maths is a successful department, constantly achieving a positive progress score. It is staffed with happy, motivated and experienced teachers and has a commitment to continuous school improvement. As a committed and innovative teacher, you can look forward to teaching KS3 and KS4, with opportunities in KS5 for the right candidate to teach A Level Maths and Further Maths.
Highcrest offers both an excellent induction and support programme for ECTs and an innovative and extensive CPD package for more experienced teachers. This provision of training has been praised as outstanding by an external assessor and highlighted in the local press. For ECTs, we provide weekly CPD meetings with experienced members of staff, time-tabled and protected Mentor Meetings on a weekly basis, subject knowledge time with departments and an extensive personalised CPD plan. There is also the possibility of shared living accommodation.

About The Highcrest Academy
Our Ofsted Report February 2020 says “The school has a warm and welcoming atmosphere” and “Pupils at The Highcrest Academy happily live up to the school’s motto of ‘aspire and achieve’.”.
Our aim is to establish a culture of excellence throughout every element of our academy and move us from Good to Outstanding.
There are approximately 1000 students on roll, which includes the Sixth Form. A recent building programme comprises a brand-new Sixth Form Centre, sports facilities including a gym, and a new restaurant and coffee shop for both students and staff. We also have a thriving House system that brings our whole school community together.
