Mealtime Assistant job summary

We are looking to appoint a Mealtime Assistant to join our team.
o 6.25hrs per week / 38 weeks per year (term-time)
o Monday to Friday 12 to 1.15pm
o Grade A - £12.65 per hour
o Fixed term until 31st August 2026
We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible to provide lunchtime supervision of pupils at play and in the dining hall, assisting them to have safe and happy mealtimes and playtimes.
When working in the dining hall, the successful candidate will:
Assist our children with cutting up food, pouring drinks and clearing away
Wipe tables and any floor spills swiftly to ensure a safe and hygienic environment
Encourage reluctant eaters to eat their lunch and report back to class teachers when children do not seem to be eating well
Help to maintain a calm and co-operative environment
When working in our playground, the successful candidate will:
Promote positive play between children
Assist with setting up play equipment
Maintain an overview of the playground being aware of any children who seem unhappy and taking action to include them in activities
Understand the importance of safety and be vigilant when caring for the children
Be willing to undergo safeguarding training
Be active and pro-active
