Media Resources Apprentice job summary
The Leathersellers’ Federation of Schools, including Prendergast School, is looking for a motivated and committed individual to join our team as a Media Resources Apprentice.
This apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical skills, work towards a relevant qualification, and contribute to the vibrant environment of our schools.
You will be directly responsible to the Media Resources Manager and will play a key role in supporting the production of essential school materials and managing our media infrastructure.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with:
Assisting in the design and production of Federation and school materials, such as brochures, leaflets, and typed documents.
Updating the Federation’s and schools’ websites.
Providing document finishes like laminating, collating, binding, and stapling materials for staff.
Managing high-volume copy runs, assisting with photocopying and printing of learning, administrative, and pastoral materials, and ensuring deadlines are met.
Maintaining copiers/printers and other reprographic and digital image recording equipment across the school, and keeping accurate equipment inventories.
Assisting with maintaining, ordering, and managing stock for the print room.
Monitoring, quality checking, and updating displays around the school.
We are seeking someone with strong motivation and commitment who is keen to learn all aspects of the role and acquire new skills, with an interest in both creative and practical work.
Essential Requirements:
To have achieved at least a Grade C at GCSE in both English and Maths or equivalent.
An appreciation of colour, detail, and design.
Excellent communication skills, both in person and via telephone/email, to deal effectively with a wide range of people.
Good knowledge of using MS Word and Excel, Google Sheets and Docs, and the ability to learn and use design technology.
Willingness to work towards an appropriate Apprenticeship qualification.
Desirable Skills:
Experience of using a wide range of DTP applications, including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premier Pro (This will be a key area for development!).
Hours: 35 hours a week, 39 weeks a year (term time only, including 5 INSET Days).
You will be joining The Leathersellers’ Federation of Schools, supporting its ethos, objectives, and policies.
