Medical Needs Officer job summary

We are looking for an energetic individual, who has experience in medical welfare and first aid . The successful candidate will be well organised, reliable, adaptable and conscientious. They will have good spoken and written English and good ICT skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with secondary aged students, teachers and parents.

The role includes supporting students and staff with a variety of medical needs, and the applicant will therefore need plenty of common sense, along with the ability to deploy tact, diplomacy and sensitivity. They will have a calm and positive manner, work well as part of our pastoral team and crucially be able to exercise sound judgement and act swiftly in emergency situations.

Salendine Nook High School is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary 11-16 school situated in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
Attainment in entry is higher than average in all year groups. Over half of the students on roll come to us with high prior attainment based upon Key Stage 2 SATs. Our students generally arrive with high levels of literacy and numeracy. This means that expectations are high in terms of expected progress over the five years of secondary education. The parent body is also generally very supportive. We are a larger than average secondary school providing approximately 1350 places for students. The school is oversubscribed in all year groups.
The school converted to academy status in February 2012. It is sponsored by a single-academy trust called the Salendine Nook Academy Trust.
