Medical Teaching Assistant job summary
We are seeking to appoint a Medical Teaching Assistant to join our hard-working team as soon as possible. This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious individual who thrives on exciting, new challenges and has the experiences, drive, and passion to enhance our teaching team. This role is 30 hours per week, term time plus 5 INSET days.
We are a vibrant school with a team of committed staff who always go that extra mile to meet the needs of all our children. The successful candidate will be required to support a pupil with health & medical needs. Experience of working with children with medical needs is an advantage but not essential. Full training will be given.
We are looking for someone who:
Can work compassionately with a pupil with medical needs, with respect and dignity
Following training can support with respiratory care, j-peg feeding and epilepsy
Can, at times, support a pupil in their home during school hours
Is eager to take a full and active part in all aspects of school life. Is passionate about making learning experiences exciting, memorable, and fun.
Is committed to the safeguarding of children.
Works flexibly as part of a Multidisciplinary Team
Undertakes direct pupil care within the individual child’s plan of care as appropriate to competency levels.
Assists in the administration of medication if trained to do so.
Monitors and assists with health care equipment and ensure safe use of equipment following a risk assessment
Undertake individual care and report any change in child’s condition to the relevant medical professional
Recognises parents as the experts in their child’s care and work in collaboration with them at all times
