MFL Language Assistant HLTA job summary

We require a reliable, enthusiastic and organised language assistant with experience of working with young people to deliver the day to day provision for students require support with MFL across all key stages. The role will include undertaking and evaluating small group or 1:1 interventions and working with teaching staff to implement strategies to enable them to access the curriculum and achieve their potential. In addition the role supports the teaching staff with administration support, classroom displays and exam preparation.

Applicants will be able to speak either French or Spanish fluently and the other to a conversational level. They will be patient, with the ability to listen and build constructive relationships with young people. Experience of planning and leading on activities in the area of MFL is essential as is the ability to use effective behaviour strategies.

The successful candidate must have excellent IT skills, a standard of written and spoken English that supports pupils learning as well as a TA specific qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 2 or 3 and an awareness of the barriers to learning that students with additional needs face.
