Mid-Day Lunch Supervisor (7.5 hours per week) job summary
We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Mid Day Meals Assistant to join our hardworking lunchtime team.
The Role
As a Mid Day Meals Assistant, you will support the smooth running of the lunchtime period. Your duties will include helping to set up and clear away in the dining hall, supervising children as they eat, and encouraging them to enjoy healthy meals and use utensils correctly. You may also be supporting individual pupils one-to-one, based on their needs.
You will also assist in organising and supervising outdoor play on the playground and field as required. We are a school fully committed to the OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) initiative, and we take great pride in creating a positive, nurturing environment for our pupils every day.
You will need to be comfortable working as part of a team and using your own initiative when needed.
About You
You will be trustworthy, enthusiastic, and full of energy, with a genuine enjoyment of working with primary-age children. You will be able to communicate effectively with pupils at all levels, respond to their individual needs, and support safe, creative play opportunities.
Common sense, patience, and good judgement are essential. You will also be committed to promoting equality and diversity, following good food hygiene practices, and adhering to the school's behaviour and health and safety policies.
