Midday Supervisor job summary

An exciting opportunity to join the staff of our popular school as a Midday Supervisor.

This post will be based at our Kestrel Way site.

Our Midday Team is friendly and hardworking. You will be helping the children in the hall while they are eating; supporting the youngest children in developing knife and fork skills and encouraging older children in social skills. Then you will be on the playground supporting games and activities. We are developing our outdoor play and learning to ensure our children experience rich, creative play opportunities to support their development and well-being. We are looking for staff members who will engage with the opportunities that approach will provide. In addition you will support our restorative approach to behaviour and proactively pre-empt and avert any falling out and behaviour issues.

8.75 hours per week Monday -Friday, term time only.

We offer you:

  • A vibrant and welcoming atmosphere
  • Friendly children
  • Great opportunities for professional development
  • A supportive, hard-working, collaborative and committed staff team

We are looking for positive, flexible members of staff who enjoy the challenge of supporting young children as they begin their educational journey. Ideally you will have experience of working in a school setting.

We operate a safer recruitment policy and follow the CBC Code of Practice. Our recruitment process includes undertaking online searches in line with the requirements of Keeping Children Safe in Education. This post will involve regular contact with children, and therefore is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Applicants are therefore not entitled to withhold information about convictions, cautions or bind-over orders which for any other purposes are “spent” under the provisions of the Act. Any information that is “protected” under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 will not appear on a DBS certificate and does not need to be declared. Guidance on this can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/new-guidance-on-the-rehabilitation-of-offenders-act-1974

Successful candidates will be subject to a DBS check at the appropriate level. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a self-declaration related to their criminal record or any information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. If you have lived or worked outside of the UK, additional information may be required from you to satisfy safer recruitment checks.

Applications will be assessed on receipt and suitable candidates interviewed and appointed immediately. An early application is advised.

Further information about the job
