Midday Supervisor job summary

Job Details

Hours of Work: 2 Hours per day (10 per week), 11.30 - 13.30 daily. Term Time Only

Duties and responsibilities

Transfer of pupils to and from the dining area.

To positively encourage good behaviour and table manners and hygiene.

Encourage children to try/eat more food.

Help children to learn to cut up their food and use cutlery correctly

Check children are eating their packed lunches and that contents are appropriate

Feedback to Lead Lunch supervisor on children who are not eating their lunch- packed or hot meals

Check lanyards regularly to help familiarise yourself with their specific needs of our allergy children

Clean tables between classes

Support where you can see help is needed, even if not in your allocated area

To work alongside the kitchen staff, chefs, Teaching Assistants to ensure the smooth running of the lunch hall

To manage the bands given to the children that dictates their meal choice

To assist younger pupils where necessary whilst they are taking a meal.

To actively supervise the dining room procedures: -

- Check lanyards and allergy children at every touchpoint

- Support with giving out cups and water and refill jugs regularly

- Assisting with the service at the table

- Training children in the correct use of cutlery

- Clearing and stacking table equipment and serving dishes

- Wiping and re-setting tables if necessary

- Cleaning up food and water spillages on tables and floors

To liaise with the Headteacher and teaching staff of the school in dealing with problems arising from pupil behaviour and any other matters of concern.

To contribute as a member of a team to the ethos and environment of the school.

To adhere to need for confidentiality at all times.

To perform such other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are commensurate with its level of responsibility.
