Midday Supervisor job summary

Prestwood Infant School is seeking to appoint a Lunchtime Supervisor to assist with the supervision of pupils during lunchtime, both within the school dining room and on the rest of the school site, as directed.

Responsibilities and Duties

You will assist with ensuring the safety, welfare, physical and mental well-being of students and the maintenance of good order and discipline. We will ask you to monitor and promote appropriate behaviour in accordance with the school behaviour policy, and report any incidents as necessary.

Specific responsibilities will be allocated, but could include:

Supervising queues to the dining area.

Ensuring that students are eating in the correct areas.

Encouraging the students to leave tables clean.

Ensuring the dining areas are left clean and tidy.

Supervising children on the playground.

Managing behaviour.

Qualifications and Skills

A lunchtime supervisor must be alert and aware of children's behaviours. Be able to work well as a team, and be flexible in roles required. A lunchtime supervisor should be able to react to changing situations.
