Midday Supervisory Assistant job summary
We are looking to appoint two Midday Supervisory Assistants to join our school.
As a Midday Supervisory Assistant your role will be to ensure the security, safety, well-being, and care of the pupils of the school and to promote their social, emotional and physical development during the lunch time period. This will include helping pupils with a variety of tasks, engaging them in playground activities and helping to set up and clear away food and tables once pupils have left the hall.
You will need to be able to address any issues calmly and politely and be committed to getting the best from children by motivating and forming appropriate relationships with them.
You will be expected to use initiative and instigate and lead play. You will be working both inside and outside the school building and you will need to be able to work effectively as part of a team, enjoy working with children and reflect our school values.
The posts are available for 6.25 hours per week, term-time only.
A working day would be:
Monday - Friday: 1.25 hours, per day, between 11.30am - 1.30pm (due to the current needs of the school flexibility will be required)
On occasion you may be requested to work additional hours for training purposes or to provide cover.
Holidays should be taken during school closures and are not permitted during term time.
Please refer to the attached application pack for further information and use the Job Description / Person Specification to aid you in your supporting statement. Relevant qualifications and training are an advantage but not essential.
You will be notified, via My New Term, as soon as possible after, if you have been shortlisted for the post.
Previous applicants need not apply.
Please note that if you are shortlisted for this role, or an alternative role, an online name search will be undertaken, as per Keeping Children Safe in Education. The purpose of the search is to help identify any incidents or issues that have happened, and are publicly available online, which the school or college might want to explore with you at interview. Further information on how online searches will be undertaken can be found in our schools Recruitment and Selection Policy.
Applicants for this public-facing post will need to demonstrate the ability to converse, and provide effective help or advice, fluently in spoken English.
CVs will not be accepted for any posts based in schools. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment.
Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Most recently we achieved a Gold rating from Modeshift stars for our work in promoting sustainable travel to and from school and have been accredited with the Primary Science Quality Mark for our work in developing science across the school. We encourage children and staff to develop a ‘growth mindset’ when it comes to their potential to ‘build their brains’ and be the best they can be.
Our school ethos is positive, friendly and welcoming with the aim of providing a fun, safe and nurturing environment in which pupils are valued and want to participate, and children enjoy their time with us. Our core values of kindness, resilience, respect, responsibility and joy reflect our school and the children who come here.
