Midday Support Assistant

Grade 5

To start August 2026

Location: Dorothy Goodman School - Barwell Lane

Hours: 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday to Friday

Term: Term-time only (work only when the schools are open - 38 weeks)

About the Role

We are looking for kind and caring people to help our pupils during their lunch break. You will be matched with specific pupils who need extra help during this time.

This job is perfect if you want a few hours of rewarding work each day.

What You Will Do:
  • Help at Lunch: Help pupils in the dining room. This may involve supporting a young person to eat their dinner.

  • Personal Care: Help pupils with toilets or washing if they need it (we will give you full training for this).

  • Play and Activities: Play with pupils outside or help them with fun indoor lunchtime clubs.

  • Support in the classroom: You will offer cover support, in classes, whilst other staff have their lunch break.

About You:

  • You are patient, kind, and friendly.

  • You want to support young people.

  • You are willing to be trained to meet the needs of pupils including feed training and health needs training.
