What skills and experience we're looking for

The Minibus Driver is required to transport students to and from South Yorkshire academies and the Step Out provision following a scheduled route while ensuring student safety.

The Minibus Driver is responsible for ensuring proper vehicle maintenance, observing safety and traffic rules. The Minibus Driver must ensure students board appropriately, assisting students as and when required, whilst ensuring the safety of students while on the bus until they reach their final destination.

Transport children and other passengers to and from school safely

Ensure that the Minibus is clean and regularly check vehicle safety such as tyres, brakes, indicators are all mechanically sound

Ensure passengers onboard / offboard the bus safely

Assist students with getting on and off the bus as required

Being attentive to traffic and weather conditions and ensuring passenger safety

Follow the planned route and schedule for departure times and stops

Comply with traffic laws and respect other road users to ensure students arrive safely to their final destination

Stay alert while driving to avoid accidents with other vehicles on the road

Monitor and report fuel consumption, mileage, and passenger numbers

Report delays, accidents, and emergencies

Respond to emergency and non-emergency situations as appropriate
