Mini Bus Driver job summary

Arden Multi Academy Trust is seeking to appoint a mini bus driver to work from Park Hall Academy, Castle Bromwich, transporting students (aged 11-18) in the school mini bus from Park Hall Academy in Castle Bromwich to Lode Heath School in Solihull.

The candidates will need to be confident in interacting with children and be able to maintain a positive atmosphere on the minibus. A warm and flexible approach to the role, with the ability to show initiative and either work on their own or as part of a team is essential.

An Enhanced DBS check will be required in line with the Government’s safer recruitment guidelines which will be completed by the school.

Full mini-bus training will be provided for any successful applicant.

Qualities required:

Current full, UK driving licence with D1 entitlement

Experience of driving a minibus or similar size vehicle is desirable but not essential

Experience of undertaking regular vehicle checks to ensure they are in a road worthy condition would be useful

Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with pupils and staff

Availability between 8am-6pm and on occasional weekends (some hours outside of these times will be required)

The school operates a two week timetable and current planned requirements for 1st September 2026 are as follows:

Week 1

Monday and Tuesday (10:45am to 1:45pm)

Thursday and Friday (8:00am to 11:30am and 1:40pm to 3:45pm)

Week 2

Monday and Wednesday (10:45am to 1:45pm)

Thursday and Friday (8:00am to 11:30am and 1:40pm to 3:45pm)

Candidates should, however, have a degree of flexibility with their time.
