Sir William Romney's School is a small 11-16 school in Tetbury in the heart of the Cotswolds. In April 2020, we became part of The Athelstan Trust, a Multi-Academy Trust, which consists of five secondary schools: Sir William Romney's, Malmesbury School, Bradon Forest School in Purton, The Dean Academy in Lydney and Chipping Sodbury School.
We are a proudly comprehensive school that firmly believes that our broad and varied curriculum inspires students to become the very best versions of themselves. Our school ethos is underpinned by our three core values:
• Aspiration
• Collaboration
• Resilience
Our core values are an integral part of all aspects of school life, from our curriculum and personal development delivery to our varied enrichment activities. We understand that every student is unique and all staff are absolutely committed to helping each one develop their independence, confidence and self-esteem; offering each individual student the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Our most recent OFSTED report rated the school as ‘Good’ (February 2020) and highlighted our commitment to developing students both academically and holistically. This commitment is reflected in our curriculum pillars that aim to ensure lessons reach beyond the limitations of simply learning subject content. Regardless of subject, curriculums are constructed with a focus on 4 key areas; Diversity and Inclusivity, Literacy and Articulacy, Life after school, Life beyond school. Through this approach we provide students with a curriculum in every subject that is united in its overall intent.
