Mixed age EYFS / KS1 Class Teacher job summary

We are a small and mighty village school near Pewsey with a forward-thinking and supportive staff team. Our recent independent wellbeing survey showed that our school is in the top 5% of schools nationally for wellbeing. This is because we have a strong community of engaged and empathic children, positive and supportive parents and a shared goal; we are all working together for our children to experience EXCELLENCE (the chance to be the best you can be) and ADVENTURE (novel experiences which take you out of your comfort zone into the exciting and unknown).

We can offer significant support for an EYFS specialist, who has no experience in KS1 or a KS1 specialist without experience of EYFS.

We are also supported by a multi academy trust (Excalibur) who value individuality and provide first-rate training and opportunities for professional development. We have the opportunity to support and fund our staff through their NPQSL and NPQH.

As a small school, this appointment is really important to us and we are looking for someone who is excited about teaching and learning; who loves reading stories; who values equity & diversity; who communicates well; and who can picture themselves by our forest school fire.

We can offer you:

  • Small class numbers (between 15 and 17 pupils).
  • Proven high staff wellbeing and well-considered workload.
  • Opportunity for further study: NPQSL, NPQH
  • Opportunity for leadership development and rapid CV enhancement.
  • Well-behaved, engaged children who enjoy learning.
  • A highly supportive parent community.
  • A fun and supportive team who look after each other as well as the children.
  • A supportive multi academy trust.

We are looking for:

  • An excellent teacher who is reflective and always striving to improve and move forward;
  • Someone who is able to live our school values of: Aspiration, Community, Curiosity, Empathy, Equity, Diversity, Integrity
  • Someone with drive, creative flair and the ability to deliver motivating and challenging lessons to a mixed-age class;
  • Someone with high expectations of achievement, both inside and outside the classroom;
  • Someone who is able to use current research to inform their daily practice;
  • Someone enthusiastic, approachable and with an open and positive attitude;
  • Someone with a commitment to the wider life of the school;
  • Someone with excellent communication skills;
  • A good sense of humour!

Our principal would love to show you around and is happy to respond to enquiries over the school holiday - please contact us to make an appointment - Alison O’Shaughnessy, admin@eastonroyal.excalibur.org.uk, 01672810477 or (in school holiday) Beck Stubbs (Principal) beck.stubbs@excalibur.org.uk
