What skills and experience we're looking for

The Prospere Learning Trust are looking to appoint a Mobile IT Engineer to provide specialist technical IT support across the schools in the Trust. Deployments may be for short or longer-term cover to meet the requirements of the Trust.

  • Prospect House - Blackley
  • Grange School and MEA Central - Gorton and Fallowfield
  • MEA School and Piper Hill High School and Post 16, Central Services - Wythenshawe
  • Chorlton High School and Chorlton South High School - Chorlton
  • Pioneer House High School - Northern Moor
  • New schools opening in Miles Platting and Cheadle Hulme.

The post holder must be in possession of a full driving licence, have access to their own transport and be able to commute between school sites for this role.

The role will include the development and maintenance of infrastructure/resources and to provide general support to staff and pupils. Under the direction of the Head of IT Services, you will also support the installation, maintenance, availability and security of the Trust-wide network, hardware, and software.

This is a permanent post, working 35 hours per week, all year round.

The post holder will play an integral role in the delivery of outstanding IT support to schools and will be required to work across several sites.

The starting salary for this post is Grade 5 is £26,873.

You will work under the direction of a Senior On-Site IT Engineer and the main contacts for this role are Head of IT Services, members of the IT Services Team, Headteachers, nominated IT lead in each school, SLT at each school, teaching staff, other support staff, students, and external technical support services.

Main responsibilities

  • The Mobile IT Engineer works as part of the centralised IT Team, providing support and cover across the schools as deployed by the IT Service Manager. Deployments may be for short or longer-term cover to meet the requirements of the Trust.
  • To provide specialist technical IT support across Trust Academies including the development and maintenance of infrastructure / resources and to provide general support to staff and pupils.
  • To assist the Head of IT Services and the IT Services Team to provide high-level support to all sites across the Trust, delivering rapid response on-site first and second line support for high-impact and site-wide issues.
  • To work collaboratively with all staff and parents/carers to support student well-being and promote the values of the Trust and each school.
  • Under the direction of the Head of IT Services support the installation, maintenance, availability and security of the Trust-wide network, hardware, and software.
  • To make a key contribution to the development of and support provided by the IT Services Team across all schools through the provision and delivery of a highly effective service.
