What skills and experience we're looking for

The successful candidate will carry out the duties of the Teacher in accordance with the Teachers Pay and Conditions Document.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for pupils, incorporating the National Curriculum requirements and in line with the curriculum policies of the school.

To facilitate, support and monitor the overall progress and development of all the pupils.

To foster a stimulating and creative learning environment and educational experience, which provides students with the opportunity to fulfil their individual potential, and is conducive to the good management of teaching and learning.

To share in the development of the school curriculum, courses and study, teaching materials, teaching programmes, methods of teaching and assessment and their review.

To support and contribute to the school’s responsibility for safeguarding children and have high regard for health and safety.

Directing and supervising the work of Teaching Assistants.

Co-operation and liaison with other professionals, including fellow staff and colleagues from external agencies (for example, Specialist teachers, LAAT support services, health professionals and social workers).

Generic Responsibilities

Teach pupils in their assigned group according to their educational needs, including the setting and marking of work to be carried out by the students in school.

Job Description – Aspirational Lead

Main Responsibilities

Focusing on academic achievement, teaching, and learning in conjunction with the pastoral care of students in specified year groups, liaising closely with key stakeholders including other

aspirational leaders & tutors to ensure continuity and progression across the Key stages 2-3, 3-4 and transition at key stages 2 and 5.

Develop with the leadership team the physical, intellectual, and emotional climates for learning that establishes good working relationships, encourages good working practices to enhance

behaviours for learning.

Work closely in a coaching role with fellow teaching professionals and students to promote high standards of learning behaviours, attendance, achievement, behaviour, and welfare within

their associated year groups using relevant data and evidence to inform feedback and actions.

Using knowledge and experience of quality first teaching, lead, develop and enhance teaching practises withing specified year groups to promote positive relationships of students with self

and others in order to raise aspirations and outcomes.

Be an excellent practitioner in the classroom who inspires learning and demonstrates good practice, restorative approaches, and positive relationships with a focus on outcomes.

Lead and co-ordinate assemblies, PSHE and effective use of tutor periods and daily acts of worship.

Lead, enhance and develop the programme and application of celebrations for outstanding learner behaviours in line with the vision and values of the school.

Lead, enhance and develop the organisation of parent’s evenings, charity, performance, sporting, social and other enrichment activities for the year groups and build positive relationships with

official visitors, parents, carers and members of the community.

Work with SEND and Wellbeing teams and outside agencies on the academic, pastoral, social, vocational, and behavioural needs of students in the year group, supporting key aspects ofacademy intervention.
