Job Title: Nursery Assistant - Level 2

Location: Spring Meadow Primary School and Nursery

Hours: 8.30am to 3.30pm, Term Time Only (Maternity Cover)

We are looking for passionate, resilient and inclusive Nursery Assistants to join our team. The successful candidates will have the ability to build strong, positive relationships with the children and help to create an engaging learning environment that supports both academic progress and emotional development.

The successful candidates will support children and help them to access learning and thrive in our nurturing environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesD

  • Deliver learning activities and support for children, including those with SEND
  • Deliver targeted interventions to individuals and small groups
  • Contribute to the assessment of pupils’ development
  • Assist with the planning and adaptation of learning activities
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning
  • Work collaboratively with the Nursery Lead Teacher, Senior Leadership Team, SENCo and external professionals
  • Help create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support pupils with personal care where required
  • To keep children safe by following the school’s safeguarding procedures

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working with young children (0-5 years)
  • Has a caring, patient and nurturing approach
  • Has good communication and teamwork skills
  • Understands safeguarding and child protection
  • Has a commitment to supporting all children to reach their full potential
  • Has relevant childcare qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 in Childcare/Early Years)
  • Has knowledge of the EYFS framework
  • Has some experience supporting children with additional needs
