Nursery Class Teacher job summary

Glen Park Primary are looking to appoint an inspiring 0.6 Nursery Teacher who is committed to providing the best quality learning experience for our youngest children in a personalised and exciting way. The post is a for a period of maternity cover starting in March 2026.

As a Nursery Teacher, you will play a key role in providing a stimulating and nurturing learning environment. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, fostering social and emotional development, and ensuring a smooth transition into primary education. Your commitment to creating a safe and inclusive space where children can explore, learn, and grow will be essential to their overall development.

We are looking for someone who will:

  • Lead the EYFS curriculum across the Nursery
  • Support the development of children’s basic skills, including physical co-ordination, speech, communication, curiosity and knowledge
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources and creating displays to encourage positive learning development
  • Plan, prepare and facilitate activities that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class
  • Have experience of Read, Write, Inc (desirable)
  • Safeguard and promote the health, safety and welfare of children in line with our child protection and keeping everyone safe policies and procedures
  • Promote and follow guidelines implemented for managing behaviour including supporting children to manage their own feelings and behaviours
  • Establish positive relationships with parents and guardians, actively involving them in their child's learning journey.
