What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking an inspiring and dedicated Nursery Lead Practitioner to provide strong day‑to‑day leadership and management of our nursery, ensuring the highest standards of early years provision. This is a key role in shaping a nurturing, inclusive and aspirational environment where every child can thrive.
Working closely with the EYFS Leader and wider leadership team, the successful candidate will champion the nursery’s ethos, policies and vision, driving continuous improvement in practice and supporting the professional development of staff. With a clear focus on high achievement for all children, you will play an integral part in promoting the nursery’s aims and objectives and leading excellence across the early years provision.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have considerable experience of working in an EYFS setting
- Have experience working with children in EYFS including those who have specific SEND, EAL needs
- Have effective communication skills
- Have training and/or expertise in the EYFS curriculum
- Have good organisational skills
- Be able to remain calm under pressure and adapt to change quickly
The successful candidate will:
- Put children at the heart of everything they do
- Have high expectations
- Have excellent interpersonal and skills and the ability to liaise confidently with staff, pupils, parents, carers and other educational professionals
- Have strong classroom management skills
- Have excellent positive behaviour management skills
- Have knowledge of GDPR and be able to respect confidentiality
- Have the ability to work as part of a team and on their own initiative
