This very exciting opportunity is available as we now have a well-established and successful Nursery within our EYFS. We wish to appoint an experienced and dedicated EYFS professional to lead our daily Nursery provision. We are looking for a person who is passionate supporting children in their Early Years Foundation Stage of development and will join us not only with a wealth of successful experiences, but also the appetite and desire to further develop their own professional experiences within EYFS.  

You will work alongside our very experienced EYFS and Key Stage 1 Leader to plan and deliver bespoke daily provision for the young learners in our setting. We have an ambitious nursery curriculum which engages children through continuous provision across different learning environments including our Forest School. It is the first stage of our whole school curriculum and supports our school vision for children to belong, believe, thrive and achieve.

Hours of work, 8.15am to 3.30pm every weekday in term time.  Salary is paid pro rata for 33.75 hrs per week, term time plus one week, at scale F. The pro-rata salary range is from £21,615 up to a maximum of £24,048 depending on experience.

Applicants must have a minimum of a Level 3 EYFS qualification as recognised by the DfE (and is listed here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-qualifications-achieved-in-england). It is also advantageous for applicants to hold a current Paediatric First Aid qualification.

Ideal candidates will:

  • Have recent experience of successful working with EYFS children, particularly in a Nursery setting.
  • Have a recent background of effective working with children at this age and stages of development.
  • Be confident to work independently under the directions provided by the Early Years Leader, health specialists and the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Have recent experience of effectively developing young children’s speech and language through intervention programs, integrating SALT approaches, and planning communication rich learning experiences for all children.  
  • Have experience of and working knowledge of safeguarding children in an education setting.
  • Have additional qualifications to support their effective practice, such as Paediatric First Aid, or other similar professional development relevant to working with children of this age and stage of development.
  • Have good interpersonal skills, with children and young people, their parents and the wider school community.
  • Have a strong team spirt and the flexibility to work under direction from their class teacher but also know when and how to use their initiative to best effect for the children.
