Pelton Community Primary School is seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursery Manager to lead our nursery team, beginning January 2025. This role is integral to ensuring our nursery provides a nurturing, high-quality, and safe environment that promotes growth and learning for young children.
As Nursery Manager, you’ll oversee the 2-year-old provision and Cocoon (SEN unit) and support transitions into the 3/4-year-old nursery. Your role will involve managing day-to-day activities, maintaining Ofsted compliance, and ensuring the consistent delivery of a rich, play-based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and strategic planning, working closely with the Early Years Lead to implement improvement plans and with the SENCO to provide tailored support for children with additional needs.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong knowledge of child development, high professional standards, and a proven ability to foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. Essential qualifications include a nationally recognised NVQ level 3 in Childcare, GCSEs in English and Maths (grades 9-4), and experience in a nursery setting. Leadership experience and familiarity with OFTSED requirements are advantageous.
You will be supported in creating a safe, engaging environment both indoors and outdoors and will take a proactive role in safeguarding and child welfare, maintaining health and safety standards, administering basic first aid, and ensuring our nursery adheres to all EYFS regulations.
Join our team and make a difference in the lives of young learners at Pelton Community Primary School
