Nursery Midday Supervisor

The Rushmere Park Academy is currently recruiting for a Nursery Midday Supervisor to support the Head of School, SLT and Safeguarding/ Behaviour Manager during lunchtimes to ensure the smooth running of the canteen meals, packed lunches and the supervision of children at play.

We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic and energetic team player who’s passionate about supporting the pupils through active and engaging lunch times, and who will be a valuable asset to the school organisation.

Key Duties

  • Supervision of children in all areas of the school, including the dining area, play areas, classroom - as directed by the Nursery Lead Teacher in order to ensure the safety and good behaviour of the children.
  • Supervision of children during the meal to ensure that a good atmosphere is maintained. Encourage good eating habits and assisting the school cook to serve and help children with their lunch where necessary.
  • The maintenance of good order at all times to ensure school standards are adhered with.
  • General assistance in the packed lunch classes and the dining area as necessary, e.g. wiping up spillages to ensure a safe and ordered environment is maintained at all times and ensure that classrooms are clean and tidy for afternoon sessions.
  • Supervision of movement of pupils to and from the dining area in order to ensure the safety and well-being of the pupils.
  • Set up and clear away tables in the dining area and clean the floor.
  • Supervise and interact with pupils on the planned daily activities, ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Administer first aid as necessary, and complete appropriate paperwork. (Current First Aid Training and Certificate must be in place before administering First Aid)
  • Work to academy policies to maintain a safe environment for pupils and other staff.

The successful candidate will have

  • Previous experience with young children
  • Attributes - kind, patient, calm, thoughtful and nurturing
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to liaise with all staff and children
  • Empathy and ability to make good working relationships with children
  • Understanding knowledge and commitment to Safeguarding and Equality and Diversity.

Salary: AS 1- 3 FTE £24,534 - £25,105 Actual pro rata salary £5,754- £5,888

Contract: Permanent, Part-time, Term-time + INSET days, 39 weeks per year, 10 hours per week, Monday to Friday 11:00am-1:00pm
