Nursery Teacher job summary
Are you a passionate and dedicated early years professional looking to take the next step in your career? Longford Park Primary School is seeking a Nursery Teacher to oversee the daily management of our nurturing and engaging nursery environment on a fixed term contract for 2 academic years.
Your Opportunity
In this key role, you will ensure that children aged 2-5 thrive in a safe, caring, and stimulating setting, while building strong partnerships with parents, carers, and professionals. If you are committed to delivering high-quality teaching, implementing best practices, and fostering a love of learning, we would love to hear from you!
What we're looking for:
- Early Years Level 6 qualification or above
- GCSE grade ‘C’ or above in Maths and English
- Current paediatric First Aid certificate
- Basic food hygiene certificate
- Up to date safeguarding training
- Strong teaching experience in Early Years with a clear understanding of current pedagogy
- Experience working in a nursery or school setting
- Experience managing and working within a team
- Ability to establish and communicate clear standards and expectations
- Ability to manage and develop resources to support child development
- High standard of written and oral communication
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and statutory requirements
- Good understanding of The Children Act, EYFS Welfare Requirements, and KCSIE
- Ability to design interactive, engaging sessions for all learning needs
- Strong planning and organisation skills
- Positive, can-do attitude
- Trustworthy, approachable, and passionate about changing children’s lives

The Details
Start Date: September 2026
Salary Grade: MPS (M1-M4)
Hours: Full time.
Contract: Fixed term contract to July 2028
Closing Date: 13th March 2026 at 9.30am
