Our team prides itself on its inclusive nature and the success it has with supporting children’s learning so they can achieve their best outcomes.
We have a vacancy for a Teaching Assistant in our School Nursery (ages 3-4). This vital role will be to support a high‑quality and inclusive Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) environment, assisting children with additional funding, as well as general teaching assistant duties within the nursery environment. The role includes engaging children in purposeful play, early phonics, number and communication activities. It will also include intimate care and nappy changing responsibilities, in line with our safeguarding policies.
If you have a positive and flexible approach, and the ability to take the initiative and a desire to learn then you may be the person we are looking for. We are seeking someone who is a team player, gets on well with people and is able to work effectively with young children, parents, school staff and outside agencies. You will be supported by the Early Years team, inclusion team and the SENCo.
A 30 minute lunchtime supervisor duty paid at grade 1.1 £12.26 per hour will be required. There may be Teacher cover opportunities available paid at grade 8 .18 for the right candidate.
Successful applicants will have, or be working towards, GCSE grade C or above or equivalent in maths and English. Candidtates with level 3 qualifications are highly desired, and opportunities to work towards these qualifications will be supported by our commitment to professional development.
The role is a Teaching Assistant primarily within the Early Years setting. However, the Employer reserves the right, where reasonably required for the proper operation of the school, to require the Employee to work with other age groups or classes, including Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
This is a 5 day per week, 30hr plus 2.5hr lunchtime supervisor role, but flexible and part-time working will be considered.
We reserve the right to close this advert early if we receive sufficient applications for the role.
Ridgeway Education Trust is committed to safeguarding, equality and promoting the welfare of children and expects staff working in all its schools to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to satisfactory enhanced DBS, references and pre-employment safeguarding checks. All Leadership roles will require a Section 128 check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining a post. All cases are considered confidentially and according to the nature of the role and information disclosed.
