Nurture Group Lead Teaching Assistant job summary

Grade 6

12:30 - 2:30pm, Monday to Friday

At Ridgeway Primary School, the Nurture Group Lead Teaching Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. This role focuses on reducing barriers to learning and promoting inclusion by helping children develop the skills they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Working from 12:30 to 2:30pm Monday to Friday, the postholder will lead and coordinate a small team, delivering targeted interventions within a nurturing environment to support reintegration into mainstream learning. Under the guidance of the Inclusion Team and senior leaders, they will ensure continuous improvement in children’s emotional wellbeing and social development.

As an outstanding practitioner, the Nurture Group Lead TA will track pupil progress against agreed targets, evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, and adjust provision accordingly. The role requires someone who can lead by example, work collaboratively with staff, and inspire positive change across the school.
