Nurture Teacher job summary

You will be someone who can:  

  • Develop, understand and provide for children’s specific personal needs to ensure a safe learning environment
  • Lead on management of high level pupil behaviour  
  • Plan and deliver lessons within the Nurtured Learning provision, supporting others in the team to lead when appropriate  
  • Advocate for the inclusion of pupils with additional needs across the school  
  • You will work with a small group of children, supported by a team of Teaching Assistants, to focus on their specific areas of learning to meet their needs The children have a mixture of needs ranging from SEMH to autism to ADHD.

Hours of work: 1 .0fte  

Contract type: F ixed Term Contract until 31 st August 2024  

This role will involve contact with children and the post holder will be engaged in regulated activity relevant to children and will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check before appointment is confirmed.  This Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  All posts involving direct contact with children are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. However, amendments to the Exception Order 1975 (2013 & 2020) provide that certain spent convictions and cautions are ‘protected’.  These are not subject to disclosure to employers and cannot be taken into account.
