Nurtured Learning Teaching Assistant job summary

We have theopportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join our Nurtured Learning team at Castle Mead School in Trowbridge. We are looking for someone who is kind, curious and courageous. You’ll be committed to valuing and supporting the development of each child and be a strong team player. To really succeed in this role, you will need to be flexible and energetic, with a great sense of humour. You’ll have meeting children’s needs at the heart of everything you do, and be prepared to work collaboratively within the school and across the Trust.  

Ideally, you will have a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, and be trained in First Aid, or willing to undertake training. We pride ourselves on our comprehensive induction process and delivering ongoing professional development to all staff, and will give full training to the right person, as we believe strongly that it’s much more about attitude and approach than it is about experience. As a result, we welcome applications from people who are passionate about working with children, no matter what their background is. 

Within the Nurtured Learning provision, you will work with small groups of children to focus on their specific areas of learning to meet their needs. You will collate the resources needed for each session and be able to record feedback from the sessions. Working hours: 28.5 TA hours per week (8.45am - 3.15pm Monday to Friday, plus an additional hour from 3.30 - 4.30pm for planning on a Thursday). MDSA 2.5 hours per week.
