Occupational Therapist - The Promise School job summary
• To provide clinically effective, person centered, and evidence based occupational therapy assessment and intervention to children and young people at The Promise School
• To lead on the planning, development and evaluation of a high-quality occupational therapy service for young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Developmental delay and Severe Learning Difficulties including challenging behavior.
• To provide support and training to all teaching and support staff including workshops with regard to occupational therapy interventions

The Promise School is a brand-new Free School, which is an all-through special school for children with SEMH, aged 4-16. Opening in September 2022, initially in interim accommodation on the sites of Okehampton Community College and St James C of E Primary School, before moving into the purpose-built brand-new school at Easter 2023. The school will initially open with 40 pupils, 20 in KS2 and 20 in KS3, before expanding to 70 pupils for the academic year 2023/24 and 100 pupils in the academic year 2024/25.
The school will serve the West Devon and South Hams areas, with admissions through the local authority, through the EHCP process. At the Promise, we will help all of our children and young people to acknowledge their past, build a successful future, and feel happy and safe in their present.
