Due to exciting growth within The Auriga Academy Trust, an exciting new opportunity has arisen to work as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) alongside our team of experienced Occupational Therapists and as part of our wider multidisciplinary team across the Trust. The Auriga Academy Trust is comprised of 3 high achieving specialist schools catering to children with Special Educational Needs in the London Borough of Richmond. This position is available in:

Strathmore School- a happy, thriving, oversubscribed and growing special school for children and young people aged 4 -19 with severe and complex learning difficulties including those with an additional diagnosis of autism and/or physical/sensory disabilities. Strathmore is based across 3 campuses in Twickenham and Richmond.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and highly flexible candidate who has the ability to work collaboratively and actively contribute to shaping the growing therapy service. The contract is offered on term-time basis, working 39 weeks per year, 32.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

The OTA will undertake a variety of tasks, including:

Supporting pupils to develop functional life and learning skills

Developing, preparing and maintaining therapeutic materials

Designing and delivering programmes monitored by the therapists

Supporting and facilitating group therapy activities both in class and in smaller groups

Preparing resources to support the environment in school and at home.

Working within the classroom to upskill all staff in therapeutic approaches to meet the individual needs of the pupils.

Supporting the clerical and administrative tasks of the department

You will be joining a friendly, supportive, and knowledgeable team, will be able to access a wealth of training and development opportunities, including robust clinical supervision and peer support.
