Office Administrator (Finance) job summary
We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Office Administrator to join our friendly and supportive team. This is a key role within the organisation, providing efficient and effective administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the office.
The successful candidate will act as a first point of contact, delivering a professional and welcoming service to staff, students, parents, and external stakeholders. They will support a range of administrative functions, including financial administration, record management, and general office duties, working closely with the School Business Manager and wider team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach who thrives in a busy environment and is committed to delivering high-quality support.
You will be:
- Educated to GCSE standard with a minimum of grades A*-C or 4 and above in Maths and English or equivalent. i.e. NVQ level 2 or similar
- Able to demonstrate excellent numeracy and literacy skills and standards
- Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
- A competent user of ICT
- Willing to partake in continued professional development
- Able to demonstrate relevant experience of working in an office environment, preferably with some experience working in a financial environment
- Able to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
- Motivated with energy and enthusiasm
- Able to communicate effectively with parents and children
You will:
- Assist the School Business Manager in administering financial transactions, including the processing of invoices
- Be responsible for providing effective administration to the school
- Provide a welcoming and effective reception environment in a professional and positive manner, assisting with enquiries both face to face and over the telephone
- Assist with the completion of registers confirming attendance and carry out welfare checks by telephone on absent pupils ready for the attendance officer
- Maintain effective computer-based records
- Provide first point cash handling and counting
- Assistance to School Business Manager with general administration tasks
- Report any potential child protection issues through to the child protection officer without delay
- Support the Academy in ensuring the safety and welfare of all pupils
- Be given opportunities to build on your own skills though in house and external professional development opportunities
- Be listened to and your ideas will be valued by the team
