Office Manager job summary

The Mirfield Free Grammar, part of the Great Heights Academy Trust, is seeking an exceptional Office Manager to play a pivotal role in the smooth and effective running of our secondary school.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly organised, proactive, and motivated individual who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people. You will join us at a key point in our development as we continue to grow and strengthen our provision across the Trust

About the Role

As Office Manager, you will lead and develop our administrative function, ensuring a professional, welcoming, and efficient front-facing service for students, staff, parents, and visitors.

Working closely with the Executive Principal, Principal and Senior Leaders, you will:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the school office
  • Manage and support administrative staff
  • Oversee communications, events, and systems
  • Provide high-level PA support to the senior leadership team
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, GDPR, and Trust procedures

You will also play a key pastoral role by:

  • Acting as a designated First Aider and overseeing the day-to-day running of the school medical room, providing care and support to students and staff

  • Has strong administrative leadership experience
  • Is highly organised, flexible, and resilient
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Can build positive relationships across the school community
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Experience in a school environment and knowledge of school systems would be an advantage, but not essential.
