Are you ready to be part of something special?

The Governors of Ormesby Village Infant and Junior Schools Federation are looking to appoint an outstanding practitioner to operate in our Junior school reception office to support our amazing children, families and staff. This post will be directly responsible to the Headteacher, as line manager and overall leader of the school. We are keen to get the best possible candidate and can offer the successful applicant the opportunity to join a fantastic and supportive team.

Ormesby Village Infant and Junior Schools are thriving schools in our Federation in the village of Ormesby St. Margaret. The Infant school was judged to be GOOD by OFSTED on our most recent Section 8 inspection and we were recognised for being a school which pupils love attending and one where they enjoy learning. Leaders have high expectations for what pupils can achieve in their learning and development. The Junior school was judged GOOD with OUTSTANDING behaviour and attitudes by OFSTED on our most recent Section 5 inspection and we were recognised for being a school where its pupils are happy and safe because staff prioritise pupils’ physical and mental well-being. Pupils take care of each other. Peer mentors make sure no one is lonely. Pupils can always turn to an adult if they have a concern. Pupils behave exceptionally well, and most pupils learn much because of their teachers’ high expectations.

Ormesby St. Margaret village is ideally placed and can be accessed easily from Norwich, Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth.

This post is suitable for an individual experienced in secretarial/clerical tasks, not exclusively from a school background, but this would be desirable.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an outstanding professional who:

  • Has good communication skills, a warm, welcoming, friendly and positive approach with a high level of professionalism.
  • Had a good standard of education.
  • Pays attention to detail and can prioritise work effectively in order to meet all deadlines.
  • Can work calmly under pressure in a team or on one’s own initiative.
  • Possesses high standards of literacy, numeracy and computing skills/qualifications.
  • Understands the principles of a caring and nurturing school.
  • Can demonstrate excellent reliability, flexibility, organisation and adaptability in their role.
  • Is an excellent role model in the school community with a sense of humour

You can expect:

  • To be welcomed and supported by staff, governors, children and families.
  • The support and opportunity to try new ideas and be inventive.
  • To work closely with experienced and highly skilled staff.
  • To receive appropriate support and opportunities for training.
  • To work in an environment that makes you smile every day.

For an informal discussion about the role, please ring the school office to speak to either the School Secretary, Finance Officer or Headteacher.

Applicants are encouraged to visit the school and take a look for themselves at what we can offer. Further information can be found on our school website.
