What skills and experience we're looking for

About the role:

We are seeking a committed and organised Out of Hours Club Supervisor to lead our out-of-school provision. The club provides a safe, warm and stimulating environment for pupils before and/or after the school day, supporting working families within our community.

Working under the direction of senior staff, the successful candidate will ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils, supervise club staff, and manage the day-to-day organisation and administration of the club.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety, welfare and good behaviour of pupils attending the club.
  • Supervise pupils and provide a positive and enjoyable experience outside the school day.
  • Act as the appointed First Aider, responding appropriately to minor injuries or illness.
  • Maintain daily attendance registers and pupil records in line with school policies.
  • Line manage and organise the work of club staff, providing support and leadership.
  • Manage club administration including parent contracts, invoicing and payment tracking.
  • Maintain accurate and secure student data in accordance with data protection requirements.
  • Ensure the club environment is safe, clean and ready for school use after each session.
  • Promote positive behaviour and inclusive practice in line with school policies.
  • Liaise with senior staff to ensure the club meets Ofsted standards of care.
  • Manage resources and equipment, including maintaining hygienic dining arrangements.

The ideal candidate will have

Experience

  • At least 3 years’ experience supervising children.
  • Experience supervising staff or leading a small team.
  • Experience of administration and organisational tasks.

Qualifications / Training

  • Full Paediatric First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or relevant experience.
  • Lifting and Handling training (or willingness to undertake).
  • Level 1 Safeguarding (or willingness to obtain).

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and support staff.
  • Good ICT, numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Ability to work positively with children, parents and colleagues.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Understanding of safe and hygienic working practices.
