Paid Internship (June/July 2026) job summary

Paid Internship Opportunity at the Great Schools Trust

If you are considering a career in education, why not join us this summer on a paid internship?

Our internship programme will enable you to gain classroom experience, support students, shadow experienced teachers, observe lessons, and experience the wider aspects of day-to-day school life.

We would love to hear from you if you’re an undergraduate studying science, technology, engineering, maths, or Spanish, and are interested in teaching computing, maths, physics, or Spanish in one of our academies in Bolton, Liverpool, or Warrington.

A teaching internship allows you to spend three weeks in a school and experience what teaching is really like. You'll work alongside other teachers in the classroom, gain new skills and get paid £400 per week. Internships take place during June or July.

Gain real experience of teaching and develop your skills

There are lots of benefits to an internship. You will:

  • gain classroom experience
  • learn from shadowing experienced teachers
  • receive one-to-one guidance from experts in their field
  • get support during the next stage of your teacher training application
  • have a guaranteed School Direct interview if you decide to teach

Who can apply?

Student teaching internships are available to anyone currently studying for a degree (undergraduate or postgraduate) in chemistry, computing, maths, physics, or Spanish.
