Parent Ambassador job summary

Chiltern Wood School is a Special School currently supporting over 200 students ranging from ages 3 to 19 years. We are based across three sites in the High Wycombe area.

We are actively recruiting a Parent Ambassador to join our team on a part-time basis.

We pride ourselves on building positive relationships with our pupils, their families and supporting professionals to enable communication, physical, social and emotional development for each individual.

We have extensive facilities on site to support this development and provide learning opportunities through a variety of experiences, lessons and routines.

Suitable candidates should have the ability to work with a high level of confidentiality and resourcefulness with parents, carers, partner organisations and external services in order to proactively support families in accessing a range of appropriate services and build effective relationships.

Duties will include but will not be limited toworking directly with children and their families in the community, within their homes as well as at the school, in order to promote, strengthen and develop the relationship between parents/carers, children and young people and the school.

As Parent Ambassador, the successful candidate will develop links with and utilise the resources of the community by effectively signposting and encouraging the access of all appropriately identified services to our families.

The ideal candidate will be able to establish positive relationships with children and their families and be a regular point of contact and a source of information for parents about the range of support agencies which are available to support them as well as signposting at the start of every day.
