Astrum Multi Academy Trust is a highly respected trust formed in 2017 catering for pupils with a range of Complex Special Educational Needs and disabilities. We are seeking to appoint a Parent Liaison Officer who is professional and dedicated. Our schools are all based across the London Borough of Redbridge and have great transport links from London and beyond. Astrum Multi Academy Trust is a well-established multi-academy trust within Redbridge, comprising of;
- Newbridge School, (an all through special school for pupils with a range of Severe and Complex Special Educational Needs) across 2 sites, and;
- Hatchside School, (opened in April 2021 and catering for EY/KS1/KS2 pupils with a range SEND) across 2 sites, with the newest site opening in January 2025.
In addition to our schools, we are also working in partnership with BHRUT NHS Hospitals, the Local Authority and Project Search within King George Hospital. Project Search is a one-year internship programme for post-16 pupils with learning disabilities and/or autism, whose goal is competitive employment in the community. We believe that we have the best PEOPLE working for us who make these schools and provision amazing places for our pupils.
About the Role
Astrum Multi Academy Trust is seeking a compassionate and proactive Parent Liaison Officer to join our dedicated team. This vital role supports children and families by reducing barriers to learning and promoting wellbeing, ensuring every child can thrive in our school community.
You’ll work closely with families, staff, and external professionals to provide targeted support, improve attendance, and foster strong home-school relationships. If you’re passionate about making a difference and have experience working with children with additional needs, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities

- Build and maintain strong relationships with parents/carers and pupils.
- Provide personalised support to families, including Early Help assessments.
- Liaise with external agencies and professionals to support pupil welfare.
- Promote parental engagement through events and information sessions.
- Support attendance strategies, including home visits and meetings.
- Assist families with applications for benefits, grants, and services.
- Uphold safeguarding policies and contribute to child protection procedures.
What We’re Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English.
- Experience in educational settings and working with children with additional needs.
- Strong communication, organisational, and ICT skills.
- Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach.

We are part of the Astrum Multi Academy Trust with two school sites, which are within one mile of each other. Lower School is for pupils in Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and Upper School for students in Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and 16-19.
Pupils transfer from Gresham Drive to Barley Lane Campus at the end of Key Stage 2 and are supported to do this through a well-planned transition programme.
