About this role:
Parent School Governor - Volunteer position
Icknield Primary is based in Luton. Our school family is filled with dedicated staff and thoroughly delightful children whose outcomes would be strengthened by welcoming a parent /carer governor who is committed to improving our children’s life chances.
School governance offers a wealth of opportunities to develop and deepen many skills that can be applied across a broad range of arenas, including leadership and management. The opportunity to impact on children’s lives and their successful futures is one of the most rewarding features of school governance!
A time commitment of a minimum of 5 evenings per academic year, alongside time needed to read documentation and train to develop governance skills. For this volunteer commitment, we would offer free training to develop your ability as a governor at Icknield Primary.
We are looking to welcome a Parent/Carer governor with a range of skills that would challenge and support our strategic direction, including human resources, financial and premises management. This is not an exhaustive list and we would be delighted to discuss the skills set you could bring to our governing body.
Please contact Vijith Vijay, School Business Manager with any questions on 01582 534000.
