Part Time Exams Administrative Assistant job summary

Purpose of the role

To support and assist the Exams Officer with the organisation and smooth running of all internal and external exams.

To deputise for the Exams Officer in their absence.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Understand and comply with the regulations and requirements of the relevant exam organisations, and keep up-to-date with any changes to these.

Liaise effectively with other members of school staff, students, their parents/carers, and all relevant exam organisations.

Assist with all aspects of running exam sessions including:

staffing, seating, resources and equipment;

receipt, checking and storage of exam papers and materials;

checking and security of exam scripts and safe dispatch to the exam boards;

conduct of exams in all the exam rooms;

unexpected issues or emergencies that arise during an exam;

results, post-results services and certificates;

Support the SENCO and Exams Officer to ensure appropriate access arrangements and reasonable adjustments are in place for eligible students.

Occasional Invigilation during busy periods

Undertake training appropriate for the role.

Undertake other duties appropriate for the role as may be required by the Head of Centre/Deputy Head/Exams Officer.

Contract:

Term-time plus two weeks in August.

During exam periods/results days (approximately 18 weeks of the year): 3.5 days per week.

Outside of exam periods (approximately 22 weeks of the year): 1.5 days per week.

The role requires flexibility, particularly during the critical exam periods. Exact working pattern to be discussed at interview.
