What skills and experience we're looking for

This is a pivotal role; as well as leading the KS1 phase, you will lead our oldest cohort through their final year at the Academy, ensuring they are socially, emotionally, and academically ready for the transition to Junior school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Year 2 Leadership: Take a lead role in the Year 2 team, modelling outstanding practice and ensuring a high-quality, novel-based curriculum is delivered with impact.
- Assessment & Transition: Oversee end-of-key-stage assessments and lead the transition process to ensure our Year 2 pupils move confidently to Key Stage 2.
- Phase Management: Provide strategic direction for the whole of KS1 (Year 1 and Year 2), working with the SLT to monitor progress and maintain our high "Bee-haviours for learning."
- Collaborative Planning: Work closely with the Year 2 team and your part-time counterpart to ensure seamless continuity for the children across the week.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Be an expert practitioner in Year 2 with a deep understanding of KS1 assessment and moderation.
- Have a passion for reading-rich, problem-driven learning that sparks curiosity.
- Be a resilient leader who can inspire staff and foster strong relationships with Year 2 parents.
