Part Time Premises Officer - 25 hrs per week job summary
Gilmorton Chandler CE Primary School, part of Inspiring Primaries Academy Trust, are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Premises Officer (PO) to join our professional, friendly and hard working team. The PO is responsible for the day to day maintenance and security of the school premises and site, ensuring a safe environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
Our Church of England Academy caters for children from 4 to 11 years of age and serves the parishes of Gilmorton, Kimcote Cum Walton, Ashby Magna, Bruntingthorpe, Peatling Parva, Upper Bruntingthorpe and Willoughby Waterleys. Key Duties / Responsibilities include:
Ensure that buildings and the site are secure, including during out of school hours and take remedial action if required including:
Undertake minor repairs (i.e. not requiring qualified crafts person) and maintenance of the buildings and site
Arrange emergency repairs, regular maintenance and safety checks and oversee onsite maintenance contractors, checking that work is completed to required standards and within required timescales
Operate and regularly check systems such as heating, cooling, lighting and security (including CCTV and alarms.
Perform duties in line with health and safety and COSHH regulations and take action where hazards are identified, report serious hazards to line manager immediately
Undertake regular health and safety checks of buildings, grounds, fixtures and fittings, (including compliance with fire safety regulations) and equipment, in line with other schedules
Act as the designated key holder for the school premises
Monitor stock and order supplies
Undertake general portage duties, including moving furniture and equipment within the school
We are looking for candidates who ideally have the following, but applications would be considered from applicants who do not:
Experience in a similar role or trades skills:
Experience in a schools setting
Good interpersonal and teamworking skills
Self motivation and ability to work with minimum supervision
An understanding of Health & Safety issues

Gilmorton Chandler CE Primary School is part of Inspiring Primaries Academy Trust (IPAT) an ambitious, values-led, Church of England, multi academy Trust, serving local communities in South and West Leicestershire. The schools within IPAT work collaboratively, in particular across estates and premises and the successful candidate will be supported by the Assistant Business Partner at the school as well as the Central Business Team and other Premises within the Trust.
The post is a permanent contract for 25 hrs per week / 52 weeks per year. Grade 7 points 11-14 (£17,564 to £18426 actual pay) Working hrs are 7:15am to 12:30 pm each day
