What skills and experience we're looking for
Dr South’s is a successful, village primary school, where the children are at the heart of all we do. We are committed to giving children the opportunity to learn in the outdoor environment, and are now looking to recruit an enthusiastic part time teaching assistant to assist our qualified Forest School leader in delivering our weekly outdoor Forest School sessions.
The hours are from 11.45am to 3.30pm, Monday and Tuesday. The salary is Grade 4, Point 4 to 5 (£24,404 to £24,790 pro rata, £12.65 to £12.85 per hour, including holiday pay).
The closing date for applications is the 10th January with interviews to be held week commencing 13th January. This post will initially be on a fixed term contract until 31st August 2025.
What the school offers its staff
Dr South’s is a delightful rural primary school where all children are enabled to flourish academically, socially and in the wider curriculum. We are very lucky to have the purpose-built Lin Cooper Practical Skills Building for cookery and art activities, and additional funding means that all children attend outdoor learning sessions. It is very hard to get across in writing how the school works, so all potential applicants are invited to visit to get a feel for how we are different.
Islip is on the Oxford to Bicester train line and is also easily accessed from the A34. We have strong links with the local church and we are proud to have been serving the Islip community for over 300 years. Come and meet us and find out how you can be part of our onward journey!
Commitment to safeguarding
ODST is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post involves the type of work with children and young people that requires applicants to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post. All applicants are considered confidentially and according to the nature of the role and information disclosed.
