About the Role

In partnership with the SLT line manager and pastoral team, you will:

Design & deliver a seamless KS2 to KS3 transition programme, including Year 6 taster days, open events and induction weeks.

Coordinate reintegration for learners returning after exclusion or extended absence.

Lead on behaviour for learning, intervening early, removing and reintegrating learners as needed, and administering sanctions in line with policy.

Offer one-to-one pastoral support, from conduct disorders to bereavement, working closely with parents/carers, colleagues and external agencies.

Chaperone and supervise learners during break/lunch duties, detentions and duty team rota.

Monitor, record and analyse behaviour data (Arbor/CPOMS) to inform targeted interventions.

Liaise with parents/carers—conducting meetings, home visits and progress updates.

Contribute to whole-school initiatives, including anti-bullying campaigns, collective worship and staff training.

About You

We’d love to hear from someone who can demonstrate:

Previous secondary-school pastoral experience (essential).

A proven track record in pastoral care, behaviour management or inclusion.

Excellent communication skills, able to build trust with learners, families and staff.

Strong organisational ability—prioritising caseloads, transition timelines and data analysis.

Confidence with Arbor/CPOMS or similar MIS systems.

A compassionate yet firm approach—warmth and consistency in equal measure.

Ability to work independently and as an integral member of a dynamic pastoral team.
