ABOUT US Greenacre School is one of the UK’s largest special schools, educating over 300 children and young people aged 3 to 19 with severe and complex learning disabilities. THE ROLE Pastoral Care Workers work under the guidance of senior staff working flexibly in response to the needs of pupils. As part of a specialist team, they play an important role in helping to create a stimulating, safe and structured environment for pupils with complex needs. In particular, they provide an on-call service for pupils at times of crisis, proactively supporting pupils in their self-regulation to enable them to settle and learn. When pupils are regulated, Pastoral Care Workers support pupils’ long-term development through the planning and delivery of interventions, coaching conversations and therapeutic activities or by providing general support in the classroom under the guidance of a teacher.

THE CANDIDATE

  • Experience in a school or similar setting

  • Experience working with children/ young people with SEN / SEMH needs

  • MUST be educated with GCSE Math's and English or equivalent

  • NVQ L3 qualification or working towards or willing to undertake

SALARY/ HOURS Starting salary for this Pastoral Care Worker role is £19,802 actual annual salary (£25,584 FTE) working 33 hours per week Mon-Fri term time only + 5 inset days + amazing benefits working for our Wellspring trust
