Director (Safeguarding) Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the senior leadership team at The Sixth Form College Farnborough.

You will be one of two Pastoral Directors, each of whom is responsible for leading the highest quality pastoral provision within the College and for the quality of advice, guidance, support and challenge provided to students by a team of Personal Tutors and their effectiveness in enabling and supporting students to achieve outcomes at their highest potential.

Each Pastoral Director also takes on a cross College leadership responsibility, and, under the strategic leadership of the Assistant Principal Pastoral Support, who is the College's Designated Safeguarding Lead, your cross College role will be to act as the College’s First Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. You will be the first point of contact for the College’s team of second deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads, leading and advising them, as well as Lead Tutors and Personal Tutors, on all aspects of safeguarding, making referrals to external agencies and managing the resulting safeguarding caseload.

Judged outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in September 2021, the College now has over 4,000 students enrolled on over 40 Level 3 courses. The College community continues to grow and a record number of applications were received for September 2024.

In recent years, academic outcomes have been well above the national average both in attainment and progress. Alps value added measures consistently put the College in at least the top 25% of providers nationally both at A level and for vocational courses.
