Pastoral Lead (Grade 7) with Safeguarding Responsibilities (FTE 0.6) job summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Pastoral Lead to join our team. This role will have a key focus on:
- Leading on pastoral support for pupils, including behaviour and wellbeing.
- Acting on safeguarding policies and procedures and supporting families by attending social care meetings.
- Supporting children and families through effective liaison with outside agencies.
- Leading interventions to improve pupils welfare and engagement.
- Working closely with parents, offering support and outreach.
- Working closely with senior leaders to promote a safe, positive and nurturing school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day to day pastoral support across the school.
- Support with safeguarding referrals, records and follow up actions.
- Attending Safeguarding meetings.
- Supporting staff in identifying and responding to safeguarding concerns.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve attendance and behaviour.
- Maintain strong relationships with parents, carers and external professionals.
- Lead family support and parent workshops.
Desirable Qualities
- Experience working in schools.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and child protection procedures.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications in safeguarding, child development, or social care (or willingness to undertake training).
