JOB TITLE: PASTORAL MANAGER

SALARY: Grade 6 (SCP 21 - 26) £32,115 – £36,124 per annum pro rata

Hours: 37 hours per week, 8.00am – 4pm Monday – Thursday and 8.00am – 3.30pm on Fridays, 40 weeks per year.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Manager to support our student’s wellbeing, behaviour and engagement.

The Pastoral Manager will work closely with Heads of Year, the Senior Leadership Team, and external agencies to promote student welfare and ensure a safe, supportive environment where every child can thrive. This is a key role in supporting positive behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding within the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality pastoral support to students across all year groups.
  • Support behaviour management strategies and restorative practices.
  • Monitor and respond to attendance, punctuality, and wellbeing concerns.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of interventions and contribute to safeguarding procedures.
  • Assist with reintegration of students following absences, exclusions or other transitions.
  • Be a visible and approachable presence around the school.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience working with young people in an educational or youth support setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A calm, confident, and empathetic approach to supporting students.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and behaviour management.
  • The ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
